If its normal to you to shit backwards on a toilet seat and just leave it, its the place to go, if its normal to clog sinks, flush plastic cups down the toilet, tear things out of the walls, its the place to go,if its normal to puke in the corners, leave all your shit, although big bins are just in front of you,its the place to go.
But they do have great music. Addy is just divine. Not to forget the staff.; - )
Please tip the cleaners, show them respect for being able to keep up with your people, they are having a hard time, trying to keep the toilets okay, they have to stay out there 24/ 7 just to keep up. God bless the cleaners.

I recommend this place.

Second, the people who come to this club truly respect your space and you won't be bothered if you do not want to be (an exception would be Gay Pride where tons of visitors show up and start pinching and slapping, which can be annoying if you are there to dance and dance with no shirt on).

The first point above is self-explanatory but the second requires more texture. There is an area in the middle of the club that seems to attract a plethora of great looking gay men. I have met quite a few now and the vast majority will approach me and, 9.5 times of 10, ask me about my abs versus hitting on me. Further, most seem to like partying with a diverse crowd. Finally, there are some fantastic dancers. Versus a style that I have which is more about style and flow (somewhat ethereal), there are a lot of guys here that have a real direct, hard, almost guttural or animalistic approach to dancing. Much harder on the calves, hamstrings and lower back, but great to incorporate or change the pace. To conclude, I move around alot in there even when it is crowded and have never hit anybody (unless they move suddenly, stupidly, or both) since they all know what they are doing. Great group of guys.

My new favorite area, however, is toward the exit to the smoking area behind the men's bathroom. There are a ton of Asian folks there and not many non-Asians hang out there for too long. However, there are two major redeeming qualities pertaining to this group. First, they don't talk to you. They are doing their thing and you are doing yours. Awesome. Second, they have a wonderful sense of spacing with regards to dancing. Watch any of them dance for 15 to 30 seconds and you will see their movements rarely deviate beyond 1 to 2 yards in either direction. You are completely safe and won't get hit in there. There are a few exceptions, meaning guys that can move around alot and quickly, but the majority of them are "legendary" dancers, "Michael Jordan" like. If u see them, u should sit down, watch and learn and then head to a quiet area and practice. I have learned a ton from some of these people. Not only are the moves innovative and challenging, but the confidence derived from executing against them is an ancillary benefit that permeates through your whole routine as well.

Finally, the majority of people are actually quite friendly if you push it. This weekend I was feeling kind of funky and needed cigarettes. None of my crowd was there, so I asked an Asian girl that I always dance with to come with me. Her English is kinda non-existent but she came with me after my lame non-verbal communication of the situation. Once outside, I realized my money was in my car, which was parked in a back alley behind my business (always good, or maybe bad, to have a business near cozo), and she trusted me enough to make sure I got there ok. Anyway, I got the $, we went to the store, and then she came back to cozo with me. Then she disappeared. No need for pleasantries, fake hugs and kisses, etc. Glad to help now "see ya"! Love that. If I did that at another club, I don't think the people would be as trusting.

Finally, I have had a ton of CoZo folks at my place and at my business (what the freak do you do between 4 am when it closes and 6 am when it opens on Mondays?). None of them has ever stolen anything or acted inappropriately. This includes men, women, Canadians, and various folks from all over the world.

If u love great music, love to dance, and want to meet a real eclectic group of individuals, the Comfort Zone will not disappoint. Just don't be aggressive. That doesn't go over well there!

I recommend this place.

Like people have said before me, there are definitely sketchers there, but what place doesnt have it's form of 'sketch' people??? i mean seriously. Even an innocent university pub has it's 'creepers'. Like liz said- if you're a stuck up snob, theres no place for you in the zone, but if you're open minded (and most people will be by the time zone opens) you'll have a great time !
I recommend this place.

The EndUp( The San Francisco answer to Comfort Zone) pales in comparison with the music and comraderie I felt when I was a CZ junkie. If I decide to go back to Toronto to visit or even move back to, CZ is one of the first things to do. Comfort Zone, I swear.....
I do not recommend this place.

I thought guv and hotel were awesome, and they are..but zone is in its own category. The beatz at zone are loud, dirty , and addictive..for any true electro/house/tribal/ (etc.) junkee, I can GUARANTEE the zone is for you. Just be careful and don't mind your own business..have fun and enjoy the music. Indeed, there are a number of sketchers there..but nothing will happen if you don't let it. The staff there are sooo nice and will help you out if you've had a little too much. Most people are friendly and sociable and the crowd is soo eclectic. I definitely love this place!! COZO!!!
I recommend this place.

I just went to comfort zone for the first time last sunday(December 10th, 06) when my girlfriend that took me there and waited in the line up for soooo long AND SKETCHY IS RIGHt! I get so paranoid there. There was like a "fight club" thing that goes on there, After this guy blows his whistle and everybody goes out the back door. The black lighting there Makes everyones eyes glow, and it will trip you the hell out! The club seems to have alot of strange people there, from old gangsters, gay men, bums, and Alot of high people. This is not for the faint of heart. Just as long as u mind ur own business and try to have fun it pretty fun. I can't keep thinking about it... If i liked it or not But one things forsure I WANT TO GO BACK. P.S. ALOT Of friendly people are there. =)
I recommend this place.

It might seem a little sketchy when you walk in, but the staff and the music and the people make this a must see kind of place. On Sunday morning, this is the only church worth going to:)
I recommend this place.

The review above (posted by Lisa is infact a plagaristic spat from a McGill uni student who wrote the review a few yrs back. I've travelled and partied thru many many countries in the world - and CZ is a place I will always remember and miss. PS If you're going there to pick up then offcourse you may find the people sketchy - if you're going to dance then you dont really mind who's dancing next to you in their own little world. CZ is the best!! In the mornings on sunday's there is always a HUGE line up so visit http://www.scenestermag.com/zone/comfortzone.html
to get line-bypass cards!! That site also has the DJ line up.

I recommend this place.

The best known of its nights (days, really) is the Divine Sunday party. Unfortunately, it isn't notorious for any of the right reasons. In fact, the grounds on which it is so well known is that it is incredibly sketchy and crude, almost beyond belief.
Before going to the "Zone", as it's affectionately known to devotees, I had been warned by all those I know that had ever been. "Don't go," they said, "it's TERRIBLE!" Did I listen? Of course not! Should I have? Oh, yes.
The thing is that many sketchy places have some redeeming qualities. Great music, or really interesting people or something like that. Unfortunately the Zone has nothing like that. It is simply S-K-E-T-C-H-Y (!!) and it is without doubt one of the sketchiest places I've ever set foot in. Now on to the details...
The Zone (Divine) breakfast party begins at 6AM Sunday morning for all those that need to keep on partying through Saturday night. The party lasts all day, until 3 or 4AM Sunday morning. The Zone is actually open the whole weekend long so that, if you so desire, you can party in this sketchy little hell-hole for 3 days straight.
The Zone is a small maze of passageways that connect to a cramped dancefloor and a niche containing a couple dirty pool tables. There is one bar and an expensive coat check ($2.25) by the door. The lighting is dim throughout and there are no intelligent light fixtures at all. There are a couple areas with seats but trying to claim one for your own is not an easy task. People in this place seem to improvise, though, and crash out on the pool tables instead. Nice.
What makes this place so sketchy are the people. Just completely sketch. It seems like the sketchiest people from all sorts of different scenes gather here on Sunday to continue partying. There are amped-up ravers with glow toys, clubbers in skin tight clothing, shirtless gay men in bondage gear, and some people that honest-to-god look like bums that have walked in off the street to warm up a bit. The only thing any of these people seem to have in common is that they are fucked up, won't be sleeping for a loooooooong time, and are ultraSKETCHY! Everyone's eyes seemed to be bugging out of their skulls. Can someone say crystal meth? This is what this place seems to be all about. A drug dealer's heaven.
What seems really funny to me is that there are vagrants all over the place outside of the Comfort Zone. Seems to me this probably has something to do with the massive drug consumption that goes on inside.. the dealers can pop out to make sales the bums outside and kill two birds with one stone. Goooooooo ZONE!

This is probably the sketchiest place in Toronto. It's an abomination. It makes you feel embarassed to be human, or at least embarassed to be a partier. Someone should burn it down for the sake of humanity.. So why is it that I feel strangely compelled to go back?

I do not recommend this place.

Fr those that are sick of the pretentious stand around and look like a snob attitude of clubbing check it out. Go drssed for heat and hous of dancing and some of the dirtiest house beat you can imagine. Go comfortable... don't judge and you will never be judged... let loose and fuckin dance!
I recommend this place.

Think long and hard before you ever set foot inside there because once you do, there is no turning back. What you see and hear and feel inside the zone will live with you forever. The unparallel sick beats that come out of those speakers will haunt you. Once you walk in it’s virtually impossible to leave … and when you do finally walk out, you’re already anticipating your next visit. I promise you!

I’ve made some excellent acquaintances there … real people with real jobs … not so real people … and some other types in between… but those people also make ur experience at the zone unlike any other …

So here it is … if you want to party and dance like you never have before … if you want to listen to the best house music ever created … then this is going to be your new after party destination … if you’re an untight, snobby, judgmental excuse for a human being … then don’t waist your time … you won’t like it … and we won’t like you.
