I too was cussed out by the back door man. He lied to the staff and told them I was enebriated. Which resulted in being asked to leave. He is GONE now TG. When I see Greg at the piano, I leave, he can't keep tempo, and his voice is gone. (time to retire). Kendall on the otherhand, is talented, friendly, polite and a joy to be around. He's just a little too loud. Kendall: "Sing along! ' Turn your voice down pls. U would deffenately recommend this place. As for being frisked! It helps me feel safe knowing there are no weapons/drugs there. I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

There is a new policy of frisking customers at the door. Treating customers, especially regulars as criminals, is not the best way to develop loyalty.

I love this place, they are extremely supportive of all aspects of gay culture.Drag shows with Toronto's top female impersonators, retro sundays, and they host fundraisers for the not for profit AIDS foundations. The owner and staff are professional and polite. It is always a joy to stop in and feel like one of the family. Zippers gets five stars.

Okay what's with the overinflated order barking baboon on the door on weekends? Is he protecting some of the city's most professional and hospitable bartenders from their well paying customers? No seriously this place has some of the best staff and used to be a daily pitstop on my way home from work. Untill four of us were cussed out and treated like pondscum by this baywatch moron when we to tried re-enter to get our things after our last cigarette of the evening. "Policy!" Three of us have worked in bars and there is a way to enforce the rules firmly but politely without flying off the handle. Our jackets AND the almost four hundred bucks we dropped in two hrs were completely disregarded. No more stopping here after work for me either. This weekend visit left such a bad taste in my mouth I cant imagine feeling relaxed there after being treated like cattle by a doorman better suited for Richmond Street. Great bar, great staff, great entertainment ...once you're in. I do not recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

The bar staff is friendly and you get great service. Especially from Rob And Brennon. This would be a gay version of Cheers

I am a long timer at zippers been going for years basically because the crowd is fun, relaxed, totally into just having a good time. Although the staff turn around is difficult to keep up wtth. There we're some great security guys there, Greg was supper! friendly, easy going, down to earth and FUN. He truly brougth something to the night club scene. I just loved how he would dress, it just made you feel surprised as you neverknew what he would look like the next time your walked in. And in my personal opinion made the bar feel diverse.I am opening a bar soon in L.A. and Greg if you ever get to see this truly know I will find you one day and ask YOU to work for me. MC I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |
