Friendly, cheap and they show great movies. A few of the mainstream selections and lots of indie movies give you great choices. Plenty of comfortable seating - there's even a balcony which gives it a bit more flair and old-school feel.

As one of the last few independent theatres, the Bloor Cinema is a nostalgic venue complete with popcorn that isn't ridiculously over-priced and red velvet-covered seats. Running mostly older flicks, independent film festivals, and specialty films, the Bloor also regularly features cult classics like the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Pink Floyd's Darkside/Oz. Membership is required, but it's only about $8 for the whole year, plus the price of a ticket - still cheaper than the regular theatre.
