DescriptionThe Xing Dance Theatre was established in 1986 by Chinese Canadian choreographer Xing Bang Fu. He was later joined by Simon Sylvain Lalonde as Executive Director.

Based in Toronto, and formerly known as the Panda Dance Theatre, the Xing Dance Theatre has been mounting unique, creative works for the past 14 years. Known for their fusion of classical ballet, Chinese dance and modern dance, the Xing Dance Theatre has created and produced critically acclaimed, original productions including Yellow River (2003), Rice (2003), Dream of the Red Chamber (2002), Divas of Ancient China (2001), and Butterfly Lovers (2000). This innovative approach has resulted in a highly creative, unique style of dance that blends the beauty of the classical arts and spans traditions and cultures.

Xing has classes too!
I have studied with many pre-professional ballet
schools in Canada and abroad. I can only say that
Xing is the best ballet and modern teacher I have ever known. I have been a student of his for three years, and he is the greatest! He has helped me tremendously, and his expertise in the field of dance is genius. He has so much to offer to anyone who takes his classes. As for the shows... (that I have had the privilege of taking part in) they are etremely "wild" (in a good sense.) To anyone who reads this: you should check out Xing's website, www.xingdancetheatre.com for a class schedule or dates for upcoming performances. "Ink" is very special. "Rice" is my favorite!

I recommend this place.
