New movies at a cheap price. It's rare I can find a new movie I want to see there since they carry the blockbusters too. Also convenient for shopping at St. Lawrence Market and a very good Dominion store almost right beside. A giant Loblaws is a few blocks away. Parents could drop their older kids for a weekend matinee while they pick up groceries.

Great for what it is. Some movies I want to see before they come out on DVD, but am not too sure I want to shell out the $12 for the large theaters. So going to the Rainbow is where to go. For nearly half the price, the theater screens are small, but as are the rooms. So you can't sit too far away from the screen where it will be tough to see it. It is a busy area, so some shows will sell out pretty easy. And also a great thing you're so far down underground no one's cell phone will work even if they haven't turned it off, so that's a bonus.

I prefer this movie theatre because it is so cheap but getting there is a pain in the butt. By the way vickiso, Cineplex owns Famous Players and they both charge the same prices.

It's not a huge theatre, but it plays a lot of the newest flicks for way less than the Famous Players or Cineplex Odeon theatres. It's $7.50 for a regular evening show for adults, and $4.25 for Tuesdays and weekday matinees. Even the popcorn is cheap. One nice perk - they have a live pianist playing in the lobby most nights while you buy tickets.

Prices are unbeatable but some theatres there have maybe 5 rows and comparable with a home TV and a DVD player. Maybe it would be better to rent this movie and save on TTC. I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

A great little underground theatre in the St. Lawrence Market. Rainbow is cheap - $4.25 matinees and Tuesdays. They always have a couple of new releases and a few older flicks just in case you missed them when they came out. There's a nice piano in the lobby that anyone can play. Friendly staff, neatly decorated and a pleasant place to watch a cheap movie.
