In addition to the history, arts and culture, The Distillery has been the location for over 800 film and television productions in the past decade, including Chicago, X-Men, Against The Ropes and The Hurricane, making The Distillery District the most popular film location in Canada.

They got galleries, artisans, restaurants, food/coffee shops, entertainers, etc. Nostalgia of an old era, free entrance & convenient. I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? 	3 out of 5 people found this review helpful. I hadn't heard of the Distillery district until my mother came for a visit and read about it in a TO Tourism magazine. Apparently many movies have been filmed here, including Cinderella Man. It is definitely an interesting sight, a little untouched piece of Toronto's history, with many galleries, shops and restaurants. However, after seeing the buildings, which didn't take long, there wasn't much left. There is no explanations of what the buildings were used for or any other historical facts. I guess you could find it out on their Segway tours but I will never be lazy enough to use one of those. If you do decide to go, one fun little shop is Soma Chocolatier, where you can find great gelato. I do not recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam
