I am an student in Canada and I unfortunately entered this building called Neill Wycik for accomodation. I am a student of Ryerson and this falls the closest. But I would warn you from entering this hell.. read the agreement before you sign.. apart from the $431 or $462 rent you need to pay they involve you into paying fines of about $25-$1000 everytime by saying that you did not devote mcp (maintenance) hours and as per the agreement they have to collect fines if you do not donate the mcp hours. this mcp hours include donating 8-10 boxes of juices and 3 cans of tuna and branded kids bags from winners and you end up paying $50-100 extra above the rent. also the internet bill is $25 and cable $25 in addition to it!!!! they also take some $200 for maintenace in advance and say that they would refund it when you leave but that is a big lie!!!!!! they make some or the other excuses to keep that as well!!!!!! so please be careful... the only thing good here is the student environment around but hey! i would not prefer that at the cost of paying $25-1000 fine every month!!!!!! they suck your blood and harass you with notices every now-n-then!!! they show no sympathy when you are in trouble!!! the management team noreen, melissa and all are very ugly and money-minded people.. they just want money and their pockets should be full of money thats all, if you die, they dont care.. they want the fine!!!!!!! being intenational student you can find loads of accomodation at cheaper prices and in friendly neighbourhoods where people will come to you rescue when you are in trouble, dont join this mess please!!!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Neill-Wycik over Spring Break. Its major advantages are that it is cheap and located close to Yonge St, which makes it ideal for travellers on a budget. I had no serious complaints with its cleanliness either, although my room appeared not to have been swept for some days when I arrived. My boyfriend also was not given replacement linen, and had to ask for it at the front desk. Nevertheless, travellers should be aware of certain negative aspects of the hostel. Firstly, the food is indifferent at best and awful at worst. We only ate the free continental breakfasts at the hostel, and they were certainly not up to the standard of other university hostels at which I have stayed, both in terms of quantity and quality. The facilities at the hostel are also lacking, compared to other institutions. The rooms have no fans or airconditioning, and are extremely hot. The whole building has a single television lounge, which does not have many seats. Similarly, guests only have access to a single computer in the lobby, and it was not working for the duration of my stay. Moreover, travellers should be forewarned that they can only check into the hostel at 4PM, and that the storage facilities for large luggage are not secure. The hostel does have lockers, but they are only suitable for smaller bags. Finally, the quality of the staff varies greatly. Some of them are knowledgeable and fairly helpful, but others are surly and even rude. None of them go out of their way to accommodate you or to assist you, as you would expect at most hostels or hotels. In short, I would only recommend Neill-Wycik to individuals who were travelling on a tight budget and who were planning to spend most of their time sightseeing. I do not recommend this place. The staff at Neill-Wycik are generally friendly and competent, but the rest of the Hotel is of an execrable calibre. I have had many experiences with hotels, and I'd never seen rooms of such abysmal quality. The building is poorly maintained and is in need of new paint, beds, and a thorough cleaning. Unfortunately, it is also overrun with pests, namely bed-bugs and rodents. I would not board a dog here, let alone spend the night here myself.

I have been staying at Niel Wycik College Hotel for atleast 10 Years every summer. I find it to be very nice and also acomodating.Definately an alternative to the hotels in town. There breakfast offered is very good in food and in price. The students that work there for the summer are very nice and do there jobs well.I would highly reccomend this to anybody visiting Toronto.
