	3 out of 3 people found this review helpful. This place is so gross. We found cut up straws, mirrors, cocaine, needles and band-aids in the nightstand. We had to trade our fan with some other people to get rabbit ears for the TV. The one bathroom on the floor smelled like curry it was very odd. Also you were not allowed guests or to go into other guests rooms (like my parents were in another room and I was not allowed to enter their room). I would not recommend this place to ANYONE. You are better off sleeping on a park bench!!! If you want somewhere cheap to stay... try the Hostel on Church St., it's cheaper and in most cases you get your own bathroom!!! Bay Street Motel is HORRID! I do not recommend this place.

I am from Cape Breton Island, and on the way home from work in Ontario 2 friends and I decided to get a room in Toronto for the night and see the sights. We contacted the Bay Street Motel and they had a room available. We went to the motel paid our money and took our bags upstairs. We opened the room and were almost sick to our stomachs. There were 2 beds, and one "bunk bed". Neither of the beds had a comforter, they were both covered in stained sheets. The floor was just ply wood with random tiles placed in the middle. The shower was a stall in the corner of the room with a shower curtain. Inside the shower was a used bar of soap and an old band-aid. There were old liquor bottles all over the room. The bathroom was shared with the floor and when we went in there was still "crap" in there. And not just in the toilet. After we saw the room we went down to get our money back. We were told there were no refunds so we tried to bargain with them. We were in the room for literally 10 minutes so we offered them 50 dollars to let us leave (wich was the advertised price for a day room). They told us they didn't offer day rooms anymore because the cleaning staff left at 5 pm. Needless to say we were surprised to hear this place even had cleaners. We ended up staying the night in the airport, and we felt much safer for it. So if your looking for a 95$ dollar locker to throw your bags in while you see the sights then the Bay Street Motel is the place for you. If not I'd say spend the extra 50 bucks and find something half decent. I do not recommend this place.
