This studio appears to have been closed for some time (like since the 1970's) "due to retirement" according to a sign in the window, yet the lights are always on, the coat rack inside appears to be in use and there are papers on the desk. All this is barely visible through gauzy curtains, if one peers around the smiling circa-1975 yearbook-type portraits hanging in the windows. Why hasn't the place been sold / rented to a new tenant / torn down / reopened under a new owner? My personal theory is that the entire location is an artistic installation piece, a lone voice in the wilderness of West Queen West crying out against the explosion of new condo projects.
