Founded in 1991, the Toronto-based production company Canaz Corporation is named for the ancient Germanic rune stone that symbolizes "protection of the artist".

Canaz specializes in special effects animation, commercials and nature programming for international television and new media applications. Under the creative direction of Canaz Founder and President, Michael Clark, the company has garnered over 14 international awards for its innovative animation and special effects design. In 1998 Patricia Sims joined Canaz as Vice President, bringing over 10 years of experience as a producer, director and writer specializing in nature and underwater documentaries.
