Description
The latest addition to the Ontario College of Art and Design was designed by architect Will Alsop. The Sharp Centre for Design floats 8 storeys in the air suspended by steel poles. The rationale behind the radical design was to not block the view of the park from the redidents on the opposite side of McCaul St. By suspending the box in the air rather than a traditional building, the view of Grange Park was saved. Love it or hate it, the OCAD building is truely a Toronto landmark.
