I had submitted a comment about my building on Lascelles Blvd a couple of months ago and I didn't have many nice things to say. I'm happy to report that things have changed. They've replaced the former Superintendent (a very rude man) with a lovely new man who is pleasant and courteous. In addition, they've appointed a new Property Manager who is professional and well spoken.

My husband and I lived at 3000 Yonge St for about 18 months prior to moving back to Australia in Dec 2005. This was a reasonable apartment in a fab location, until O'Shanter took over. They were appalling. They treated tenants like absolute garbage and the construction during the installation of the heating units was a joke. They have absolutely no people skills or any idea of customer service. Avoid.

I've lived at the Lascelles location for a few months now and I'm not all that impressed. The superintendent is not very professional. He's disorganized and doesn't show up when he's supposed to. Anything I've needed I've had to chase him for. Any complaints I've had have been met with "you're the only one complaining about this, so it's your problem". The elevators are old and unsightly and not reliable late at night. The walls are covered in burlap and are ripped and stained. Someone vomitted down the wall of one of them a couple of months ago and I could smell it for a week! And I can still see the stain. Lucky me. Like the other O'Shanter properties, this one doesn't disappoint in the roach department, although it's not as bad. The ones I've come across look to be well on their way to death, so at least the building sprays for them. It gets pretty chilly sometimes too. On the plus, I like my apartment itself (it's quite big) and the location is fabulous, very close to the subway, beside the Beltline and a park. In the warmer months there is a really lovely fountain that looks so nice from my balcony. But overall I doubt I'd recommend anyone move here, too many hassles. I'll be happy when it's time for me to move. I do not recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

The management at 3000 Yonge just gets worse and worse. I have filed many maintenance requests and not a single one of them has been done, and I've lived here for 6 months! There are roaches in my apartment, and the exterminator they promised two months ago never came. I have to wash everything twice because my kitchen is a roach paradise. It's taken them 4 months to fix one of the building's two elevators. The new superintendent is rude, coarse and completely unhelpful. I would never, ever live here again, I wish I never moved in. AVOID

Looks to me like from all of the reviews below, O’Shanter Development Company is NOT the Property Manager anyone wants to deal with! Hassles and Headaches that is all you will get from them. My experience is not unlike all the others below – and I know I am speaking for quite a few tenants when I say that O’Shanter needs to shape up or get out of the Property Management business! I don’t think they realize how many unhappy tenants they have! I have heard complaints from one end of the spectrum to the other about these people. Especially about the people at their Head Office! I have never had a bad experience with the landlords at my building (Clifton Manor) they seem like great people, I just feel badly they have to work for such a company! I am sure they are not appreciated. The review below is correct – we have peeling wallpaper down the entire hallway; I overheard one tenant say she felt like she was living in Ontario Housing, and for the rent we pay – it is unacceptable. The lobby of the building smells like dog urine, and this year we all had our rent hiked because O’Shanter thought installing a 100K fountain project was more important than fixing things that really matter. I am leaving when my lease is up – and if anyone working for O’Shanter happens upon this I would like to thank them, thank them for making me realize what horrible customer service really is! Your Job is to take care of your tenants and keep them – from what I can see at Clifton Manor, people can’t get out of there fast enough! Do Not Rent from O’Shanter!!!! I do not recommend this place. Moved in to their Clifton Manors at 5 Elm Ave. What an awful experience. Just terrible. This place is in Rosedale, you would think for the price that it would be kept in decent condition. Not so. Wallpaper in the halls is torn. Heat did not work 80% of the time in the winter. Super was useless. Have 4 washers and 4 dryers for 80+ units, which never work anyway. O'Shanter also has a tendency to treat their tenants horribly. We are moving in to a condo come August 2007 and cannot wait. For less than we pay here, we will actually live somewhere we can be proud of. I would never ever recommend O'Shanter to ANYONE! I do not recommend this place. Was this review helpful? 3000 Yonge St. is one of the top 2 WORST apartments I have ever had the misfortune to live in. The building and the aprtment COULD be very nice if anyone really gave a damn and if the superintendent and management would actually do something.

I moved in to 300 Yonge St. in December 2006 and want to move out in March 2007. The new heating system leaves my apartment cold. The electrical outlets are not 3-pronged. Requests to have repairs made are ignored. My mailbox does not lock and mail goes missing. There are 2 laundy rooms with 5 washers and dryers each for 2-12 story towers. Insufficient parking spots. I'm told they spray for bugs every month - that should tell you something. Help - I want OUT but have another 9 months on my lease! Guess who won't be renewing. I do not recommend this place. I lived at 3000 Yonge St. for many years. It was great until O'Shanter took over. Then they decided to add individual heating units into each suite and took over 7 months to complete the work. It was like living in a construction zone. And after all of that the heating unit rarely works and the idiot superintendant doesn't bother to fix it. The company treats tenants like crap. The best thing I ever did was to move out.

lived here at 630 roselawn for 3 years. The heating system is a zillion years old and never works. parts are no longer made so it cannot be fixed. the floor was never buffed before i moved in and due to possible old water damage in the past, the wood flooring has what looks like mold under the varnish. The elevators are so old and erratic that they are a hazzard - especially to the elderly who may not be able to enter/exit in time before they shut on anyone in the way!. Fortunately, the new super actually does her job and is a much welcome change.

I have lived at this apt. for 2 years and in that time barely anything has been fixed, there is no lighting in the back entrance, the plants in the lobby are chained down making it look like a slum. The heater never works...

Just moved in to one of their properties and already want to move out. Very disorganized, slow, and unreliable. Tons of work needs to be done in the apartment and still hasnt been done after 2 months. Elevators break every couple of weeks and my car got towed by the superintendent, even after i called the parking control the night before. Would not recommend this to anyone.
