This building is in a steady decline, which is why I decided to move after 16 months living here. My first clue should have been upon moving in when the apartment was filthy despite the fact that there was a three week turnover period between the previous tenant and myself.
While I have had no other major problems with the apartment itself and love the view, the condition of the common areas has gone from unimpressive to downright unacceptable. Hallways that are not vacuummed for several weeks with stained and torn carpets, litter strewn stairwells and corridors, peeling paint inside and out, unreliable elevators, leaky ceilings in the hallways, a dirty laundry room and erratic water pressure are my major complaints.
Its too bad this is the case because the location is second to none and a lot of really nice people live in the building. The building managers try their best with what little resources they are provided with (3 supers in 6 months suggests the staff are just as frusterated as the tenants), but the owners desperately need to invest some money in the building or risk losing some good tennants.
Much better places can be found in this price range in the same area of the city.
I do not recommend this place.
