1 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Amato's on Queen Street was once a great place to eat and just hang out with friends. Until recently I went to this restaurant and the service and food was HORRIBLE . Firstly, my friends and I had ordered the bruschetta for an appetizer. It usually has six pieces and they have cut it down to four (hardly had any tomatoes on it!). I ordered a glass of redwine, they no longer had their liquor license, so no wine for me! My friends ordered iced tea, and the waitress informed us that they did not have any! So we asked for orangina and they did not have that either! so we settled on a lemon drink.
For my main I had decided to have my usual, rapini w/ rose sauce and linguine. When the waitress gave us our dishes TWO of them were incorrect. I had received rapini with penne and the sauce was oily as hell! I informed her of the wrong order and she just shrugged and said, "I guess the cooks screwed up the order" and walked away! My friend ordered the veal parmigiana with spaghetti and he received the sandwich!
I was in shock! The waitress was not helpful and not once did she offer to take back the wrong dishes! Nor was there an apology. I did not understand what the heck was going on with the Amato's I used to know and love, until my friend told me to turn around and look at the sign. The sign stated "Under New Management", ah now I see.
When the bill finally came, nothing was complimentary even though she charged us for dishes we did not order. The whole experience was HORRIBLE. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to Amato's because of the service and quality of food.

I do not recommend this place.
