Gosh. Where to begin. Two foodies looking for something different on a Saturday night. - Took over 10 minutes for a waitress to arrive. - Ditto for a beer and water. - 20 minutes for food to arrive. - Beef was so spicy hot it was inedible. Took 4-5 bites and had to leave the rest. - Waitress never returned the *entire* meal. Desperately needed more water. - Ate about 1/10th of the food. - Between food and service: NOT recommended. me & my hubby are foodies. & we have a 9 month old baby, & so the waiting was killing. we went there expecting some basic courtesies. the service was bad. looked like the waitress was doing us a big favor. 1st of all in the weekend special,it said 2 pieces of chicken. but when our order arrived, she dumped 1 tiny piece into our big plate.it reminded me of my hostel days. the order took 30 minutes to arrive. but the bill took only 3 minutes. me & my hubby had a tug of war over that little piece of chicken. when we are exiting from the restaurant, our dear waitress was ahead of us. seeing a baby in my hand, she didnt have the decency to hold the door for me, i had the door banging on my face! i was disapointed with the service & i would not recommend ethiopian house to anyone. We went in not knowing what to expect but we are always game to try something new. The staff were so helpful and friendly. They helped us in selecting our meal, make sure you try the Dora Wat chicken it is amazing!! Have coffee as well it is a beautiful ritual that you cannot miss. Enjoy this very affordable awakening of the senses your tastebuds will thank you.

Very interesting cuisine. It is spicy and tasty. Some dishes were better than others but there are a lot of menu options. For your first time, it might be best to order the "sampler". It comes with a small amount of all items. There is a vegetarian available as well. The restaurant is small but has two floors. You may wait for a while before a table. The service was quite slow. We waited for over 30 minutes for the food to arrive. There was only one waitress available and the place was fairly busy so no props on the slow service. Don't go hungry - get there before you feel hungry!

its not for everybody, but its definitely for me! everything on the menu is served with jello like bread called injera. the texture of injera takes a bit of getting used to. but once u do and you grab the food with it (no utensils here!) there's no looking back. they have a good selection of items that are unique to ethiopian cuisine including a specialty coffee blend that takes 45 minutes to prepare. sounds yummy, although i didn't get it (i'd love to hear a review if you've had it before.) it was a pleasant experience and i'd like to go back to try out other menu items.

I have never had Ehtiopian food before I came here. Dang I was missing out! For those not having had their fodo before, Ethiopian food is delivered ontop of a type of bread called Injera. Imagine a spongey, slightly lemony, and completely delicious bread. On top of this bread will come your food - meat, vegetables, whatever. Along with your dinner will come more injera. I've been here twice - once had the vegetarian platter and then the meat platter. Both were very good - there were some selections that were less than fantastic, but it was good spicy food. If you are looking for someting different, definitely give the Ethopian House a try. Unique flavors and amazing Injera bread make this place a hit. They have several great choices for Vegetarians too. It is contained in what was once a residential home and the first time I went it was freezing outside and not much warmer indoors (hence the low score for atmosphere)! However, the waitstaff is friendly and attentive which more then made up for it. I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |
