0 out of 4 people found this review helpful. As a gluten-intolerant that loves pizza, I was excited to visit Il Fornello as they offer gluten-free pizza and pastas.
However, I found their quejos gluten-free crust was very tough and too chewy. Also, I was less then impressed with the quality of their toppings.
The restaurant was also cramped but the waiter was friendly, attentive and the shrimp and calamari appetizer was quite good.

I recommend this place.

2 out of 3 people found this review helpful. Just had dinner here with a colleague of mine.

So lets see - the service was pretty decent. The waiter came and introduced himself, and was helpful with any questions we had. The actual seating was a bit too cramped. The lady next to us dropped her knife, and her head was almost in my lap as she went hunting for it.

The ambience was pretty good. Lots of lively chatter, and I had very good and engrossing conversation.

The food was good. We had the calamari + shrimp as the appetizer. I was a bit disappointed with only having 3 shrimp, and the calamari was a bit tough. But the pizza was excellent - the over-roasted roma tomatoes were fantastic.

Overall, if in that area (Bayview Village) I would say try this restaurant over others in the area. Other Il Fornello locations are nicer, but this one is not bad either.

I recommend this place.
