Somewhere between 'meh' and *shrug* is the best way to describe this place. Breezy well explained what the place is - disappointing. Basically it is a buffet where the weight of your food measures out how much you pay. Of course the 'guidelines' are far off - my meal ended up costing 2x what the suggested price was (and I was pretty pick about what I chose). I put on maybe 4-6 different items (sparingly), and the only one worth even mentioning would be the lasagna (and only because of its cheesiness). Do yourself a favor - use the 'Search Nearby' function and find another restaurant. I do not recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

I went to Le Commensal not really knowing what to expect. I knew it was vegetarian and I had heard only good things so I was very excited to try it. I was disappointed. What they don't tell you, until you get in, is that this is not your traditional buffet. You have to chose your food and then they weigh it and charge accordingly. They have both a hot and cold buffet. I stuck to the cold buffet, and loaded up on small portions of various pre-mixed salads and sprouts. My total came to around $10 minus my drink (and I didn't take very much, in fact I was still hungry after I finished). The salads were mediocre at best, and most weren't even organic. Also, the make-your-own salad portion was extremely lacking, relying mostly on partly sprouted legumes and beans. I understand that they are very good for you but they do not taste good at all! Would I recommend this place to a friend? Well maybe, if they are vegetarian, love buffets, have lots of money to blow and are a health nut. I don't have any friends like though. I do not recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |
