Walking into Ouzeri on a busy saturday night i wasnt expecting a table anytime soon. The pretty hostess, who looked more like a model for GQ or FM magazine, told me nicely there would be a 15 minute wait. 15 minutes! I was doubtful, there wasnt a seat available in the house! She offered me a drink at the bar, and ushered the bartender over to my attention and he promply made my drink. Before i could finish my drink my table was ready, and she sat me towards the front next to the window. My first thought was great, im going to freeze, and being around the corner the waiter will never remember me...Not true. And there are heaters by the windows. The waiter, Foti, was an extremely smart, well educated, and a friendly person. He knew everything about the wines i had questions about, he recommended the snapper and a wine that would complement it. I ordered the calamari and some hummus, and was surprised to see my order presented to me in about ten minutes. As i was waiting on my entree, being a party of one, it can seem longer when there are no guests to entertain me. And it was as if the hostess and the waiter sensed this. I never felt abandoned or forgotten, even the manager came over to greet me. At first i thought since i was alone, i was the only one receiving this special treatment. But when i peeked around the corner, the manager and hostess both would go around and check up on the tables if there werent tables to be seated. The cocktail i ordered at the bar was perfect, the calamari was fresh, the hummus was great. But teh snapper couldnt have been prepared better. Not only will i be returning, but i will be returning with guests and on a regular basis, with the quality of food and the great service, i think i will find myself their newest regular. oh and the portions are huge, and the prices were very very reasonable. My martini was about seven dollars, the calamari was eight i believe, and the snapper was twenty something, but i needed to take most of it home. I guess i shouldnt have dined alone.... I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |
