March 2006 I took a friend out for lunch to celebrate her birthday and was mortified by the terrible service we received from our waitress (a young Asian woman) who told us that she would "Take our order really quickly" and proceeded to ignore us after our orders arrived. It would've been ok if she treated everyone else the same but we noticed that she was attentive to other customers. Honestly, we had done nothing to illicit this sort of attitude from her and couldn't understand her behaviour. My friend, a quiet devout Christian was the one who actually said that she felt that the waitress was "reverse discriminating against us because we were fellow Asians". We felt sorry for this poor "twinkie". Bottom line: don't go to this establishment. Service was awful and the food is nothing to write home about. I do not recommend this place. The Queen Mother Cafe is the best place to go downtown. The reason why I personally love the place is not only because of the good (and affordable) food but also for the ambiance. It's a nice place to hang out with friends and relax.
I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |
