I was at The Real Jerk on Friday April 18, 2008 for a friend's birthday dinner. His party consisted of approximately 15+ people. The service was beyond poor. our waitress was too slow and did not dedicate as much attention to our table as she should have, considering that her tip would have been a hefty one! Also, she was extremely rude and appeared "annoyed" with our requests for drinks. It was later that it dawned on me that she could not care about our table as her tip would be automatically added to parties of 8 or more. If it was up to me her tip would have been "Get a different job!" As for the food: I was appauled!!! I ordered curry and would expect that a carribean restaurant that charges 15$ a plate would know how to make curry right! The food was terrible and not worth a penny. Overall this place SUCKS!!!! I do not recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

I don't live in Toronto anymore. I bailed in '89 and moved to Vancouver. My memory has purified my TO experience down to a few precious nuggets. One of these is the transit system. Wonderful. Another is AIDA's falafel at Yonge and Wellesley. (don't know if it is still there?) but my favorite brain jewel is eating at The Real Jerk. I first discovered them when they were at their Greenwood location. The waitresses were pure JA. Hippy and slow in a hypnotizing way and the goods they delivered were well worth the wait. I have never before or since tasted chicken so good that I ate all the bones as well. I think of the Jerk often and always make it a point to visit when I am back that way.

I can't say I'm an expert in Jamaican culinary arts, but both myself and my guest enjoyed our meals greatly. I had the jerk chicken and she had the vegetable roti. I'll definitely be back in the future. http://therealjerk.com I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |
