I went to Via Oliveto last night for a work-dinner and had an awful time. The server did not order my entree, which is forgivable. But, he then told me that I could not get my order- or any other dish- until all the other tables received their meals. I would just have to wait. At best, he could bring me another salad. My companions were almost done by the time the salad arrived, and I still had to wait five minutes for a fork! No apologies, no compensation... The server then avoided our table the rest of the evening, so that pretty much meant no dessert for us. I should also note that the food hardly made up for the poor service. The "grilled vegetable salad" was mainly leafy greens and cherry tomatos- you had to dig to find anything grilled. The angel hair pasta was nothing I couldn't make at home in ten minutes. I will never go there again. Good italian food is two blocks away at Bar Mercurio.

I came here on Valentine's Day with my boyfriend. They have a excellent menu, though meals are a bit pricier ($15-$30 entree range). Still, well worth the visit.

This is one of the best Italian food restaurants I have had the pleasure of eating at, and I’ve eaten at many Italian style restaurants in Toronto and around the globe. The atmosphere is like coming home and the service is exceptional. The restaurant has a very open air feeling with high ceilings. Go for the recommended items from the staff and you will never be disappointed. I have eaten here several times and tried many dishes. Great wine selection and reasonable prices when you compare price to the gourmet quality of the food you are getting. Prices could be double for the quality. Highly recommended.
