The owner (a tubby guy with glasses) and one of the staff (an oriental lady) are about the silliest people I have ever seen work at a bookstore. Sarcasm abounds if you get to warm or frendly with them. How many times have I been asked the question (upon putting my purchase on the counter): "Is that ALL?" Yes Bakka people that is ALL. My world does not revolve around buying piles of books from you. I have other interests too you know! How I miss the days of the previous owner of this Toronto landmark. Where are you Mr. Rose?! BTW if you are a buyer of small press speculative fiction (ie NESFA press) God help you if you ask the guy with glasses to do a special order. Also if you are not independantly wealthy consider buying the current fantasy fare ONLINE with free shipping at certain online bookstores as I do now. You will see a drastic comparison in prices. Sure if you want to support 'the little guy' go ahead. I want to save some money to use on my loved ones. I do not recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

Great selection of sci-fi and fantasy, including new releases from authors you know and love and "staff picks" if you're not sure what you're looking for. There is a used book selection to comb for deals, as well!

If you're a sci-fi or fanatasy junkie, or are just looking for something to tide you over until the next Harry Potter book comes out, this is the place to go. The staff here knows their books, and can easily recommend something you'll enjoy. They also have a great selection of used books, and regularly host author events.
