When returning stuff, there's very little hassle. My boyfriend got a store credit on a 3-year old backpack due to a defect that lead to its demise.

The store does have climbing wall to properly test any climbing gear, or free-weights to test out a backpack you're fitting. Note that it does get busy during the peak times, so it's best to go off-peak if you have a lot of questions or need to do fittings or need extra time with any staff member.

I recommend this place.

I recommend this place.

You have to be a member to make purchases but it is worth the $5 members fee. The staff is very helpful and courteous and can assist you making your purchases. You can get some fantastic deals on great outdoor equipment.
I recommend this place.

The store is based on a retail co-op, so you have to get a membership in order to take advantage of their low prices, but it's a lifetime membership and it's only $5. The best thing to buy here is backpacks for school and those long cross-country trips - I've never been able to wear a MEC backpack out, and they're better than paying the $75 for a Jansport or Swiss Army pack.
I recommend this place.

I recommend this place.

He was able to provide me with the proper eqipment and spent that extra time explaining products! Where does one receive that kind of service? Thanks Nik. I look forward to shopping at MEC this Christmas!
I recommend this place.
