Nathalie-Roze Fischer is the craftista-designer behind the eco-chic "Nathalie-Roze" accessories line, which in the summer of 2006 spawned the Nathalie-Roze & Co. indie boutique and studio (located in Leslieville). N-R is a keen DIY enthusiast, a pop culture vulture, a freelance writer and the organizer of the popular Crafternoon Tea shows. Currently based in Toronto, N-R's previously lived, worked and studied in several cities – among them Paris, Nice, Glasgow and most recently London (UK).
A split-brained Gemini who's happiest juggling her multiple interests, Nathalie-Roze has worn many professional hats, including that of freelance arts journalist, published poet, arts therapist, costume designer, creative writing instructor, teacher and communications specialist. She's had the entrepreneurial bug, since street-vending her first line of jewellery at age 15.
In addition to her designing duties, Nathalie-Roze writes DIY Style for the Toronto Star's Fashion section, a how-to column re: making crafty-cool wearables. She also writes the popular Frugal Fashionista columns for Metro News, which keep over half a million readers in the bargain loop every week. Nathalie-Roze can be found most days in her Leslieville shop/studio/office - either assisting customers, sewing or teaching in the studio or madly typing up one of her columns.

The best selection of Nathalie-Roze merch is on offer at her new indie shop, nathalie-roze & co. - you'll find her various hats, sashes, bird & roze brooches, ceramic jewellery, bags, one-off skirts and tops as well as a few cool surprises.
Where: 1015 Queen St. East, Leslieville (on the S. side of Queen - just steps East of Pape Avenue).
Hours: Closed Mondays,
11am - 6pm Tues. & Wed.,
11am - 7pm Thurs. & Fri.,
11am-6pm Saturdays
and 12noon-5pm on Sundays.
For groups of 5 or more, shopping parties are available by appointment (after hours).

Nathalie-roze & co., a boutique and DIY studio, has launched in Leslieville (Queen St. East).
Serving as a base for N-R's own collections, it also showcases quirky wearables produced by other indie crafter-designers. And, the space doubles as the long-term venue for Hive Studios, a creative hub for Nathalie-Roze's crafty workshop series and other DIY-related events.
