5 out of 5 people found this review helpful. ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE

Like the many others who've posted to this site, I wish I had done my homework before buying from these crooks and liars. I should have trusted my gut instinct when I walked into their King St store and encountered their sales staff which were aloof and arrogant. It felt like we were bothering them by being there. I ordered my dining room table in August and was promised a 6 to 8 week delivery. I phoned about a week ago to check on the status of my order and miraculously got through to Janet. She confirmed my order, but had my table color wrong on the order, even though my choice was clearly printed on the invoice. When inquired about expected delivery, she had absolutely no clue, and was completely non-committal. She couldn't say if it was going to be days, weeks, or even months. Since then, I've made endless calls to their customer service line to no avail. I've had it with these jokers. Luckily I made my deposit on my VISA card, so I've lodged a dispute and should hopefully have my deposit back within a month or so. I will never give people another dime of my money.

I WOULD RATHER EAT OFF OF CRATES THAN BUY FURNITURE FROM UPCOUNTRY AGAIN!

I do not recommend this place.

3 out of 3 people found this review helpful. Everyone please read this****Call Government Services and Report them!!!

I have the exact same issue as everyone here, bought a buffet in July with 50% down, and they will not return any phone calls, although each time I finally do get someone on the phone, they act as though they will do anything the can to find out the issue and call you back. Customer service is of no help either, they do the same thing, never call back.

Call them and report your issue. I called them last week, and they have very few complaints on UpCountry. Please take the time to call them and lodge a complaint. They said if they see a trend, they will investigate the company...but since everyone is writing their complaints online, and not going to them, they have no idea about it. They will also tell you how to get your money back!!! By law!!! We have to get these guys to fix up their act...too many people are getting screwed.

I do not recommend this place.

2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. I’m the idiot – for not heeding the warnings of people from this site. The place should be called UpYours to better reflect how they treat their customers. My story is much the same. I bought two chairs in July for which they charged me 50%. They then inexplicably charged my card for the other 50% the following week. After repeated calls (they only pick up occasionally if you press 2 for new sales; never on service extensions) they said they had no idea how they could have charged for the full amount, but no problem they said as I would get delivery the next week. I’m still waiting. And as others state, it’s just lie after lie. I think all staff are from the same gene pool as they all lie and cover for each other. Everyone I have spoken to sound so sympathetic and promise to call back the next day, but I have yet to have a call-back. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.
I do not recommend this place.
