	10 out of 12 people found this review helpful. When we first got our puppy, and looked up vets near us (on iBegin of course), this was the first one we considered. Having lived nearby, we had walked by this place quite a few times. The overall experience was satisfactory. The vet was very nice, and very patient and explained things great. She did try selling us pet insurance, but wasn't too pushy about it. The support staff are friendly but overworked. Every time I go there they are always busy with phone calls, other people, or what not. It is a successful business - that is good, but hire some more people to help out. Been there about 5-6 times, and always the same - very rushed. As we had a puppy, we did give stool to test. We were told that unless there is something wrong, we won't get a phonecall. Unfortunately we did - he had some worms. We did give the medication as required, and after giving his stool, did not hear back. In retrospect (and reading Mick's review) perhaps we should have called just to make sure. The one problem was when we were driving through the US (and taking our puppy), we called to ask if we could get the necessary paperwork. The woman I talked to was completely confused, and would not get a hold of someone who would. Instead of arguing with her, I just waited and called back an hour later. That time the guy who picked up knew what was going on, and was very helpful. So - the vets are nice, and they do seem to genuinely care about pets. Just beware of how everything feels very hectic. The elevator was slow as molasses, and often down. Every time I was trying to go down, the elevator would first stop at the floor above, and then come to my floor. Made no sense. Not the best, not the cheapest, but an interesting experience. Instead - all horrible. The place was almost empty, and our host was annoyed we didn't have a reservation. He then proceeded to take seat us at the worst table. The service was slow, impolite, and downright condescending. The food? Also tasteless. Absolute rip-off, do not ever visit this place. After graduation, I did check out the place. It is pretty middling. The food is pretty decent, and the place is busy, but not too busy. I rushed here after having severe pain my a broken tooth (long story short, I got nailed with a baseball 10 years ago that fractured a couple of my teeth, and broke one in half). It had always been fine, but was driving me crazy in the last 24 hours. Dr. Kemp referred me downstairs, and my root canal was fixed. I did come back, and have had no problem with getting my fillings done (okay I admit, I was waaay behind on my dentist appointments), wisdom teeth removed (another referral, I felt absolutely no discomfort at all), and I come every 3 months for hygiene appointments. The service is excellent, and the staff are all very nice. The hygienist in particular is a great person, recalling details you told her months ago. Great bunch of folks, give them a try. Last time I went I do not remember them having any organic meat, which is what I was looking for. On the weekends this place is absolutely packed. You might think you have somehow arrived in a shopping mall before Christmas. Lastly - the yummiest burgers are available here (being cooked while you wait for your turn). Does that mean the food is bad? Not at all. The omelets are all very good, especially the brie cheese one. They also serve up a nice serving of french toast. Definitely worth a try. BUT - I always get the Frozen Hot Chocolate (why they need to add 'Hot' I don't know, but that is for another day) and thus my scale of quality depends on how they make it. And yes, I know that differnet people make it in differnet styles, but after all - aren't the employees a reflection of the management? Conclusion? It actually has quite a few items stuffed in its small shop, including gluten-free items. It is pricey, but considering it carries more 'on-the-edge' items, to be expected. The idea is simplistic - there is a 'marketplace', and you choose what foods you want to get (eg pizza, pasta, etc etc). Once you have your dishes, you pay, and then sit down and eat. The food is forgettable. The place seems very focused towards tourists - sort of a 'oooh check this place out' more than a 'mmmm this place has good food'. Basically it is a buffet where the weight of your food measures out how much you pay. Of course the 'guidelines' are far off - my meal ended up costing 2x what the suggested price was (and I was pretty pick about what I chose). I put on maybe 4-6 different items (sparingly), and the only one worth even mentioning would be the lasagna (and only because of its cheesiness). They do advertise that they do not use MSG, but the food is dripping in oil and fat, which surely can't be good for your health. But the food, in its cheap glory, is yummy. Sure, it isn't fine cuisine that you would expect at a high class restaurant, but it fills you up, and leaves your taste buds happy and satisfied. I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Basically you order a small/regular/large cone, or a regular/large cup. A small = 2 scoops, a regular = 3 scoops, and a large = 4 scoops. The flavors themselves are a smorgasbord of deliciousness - I myself had the twix, mars, and cookies n' cream flavors. All three were sinfully delicious. And to boot, the place is cheap. The waiter came and introduced himself, and was helpful with any questions we had. The actual seating was a bit too cramped. The lady next to us dropped her knife, and her head was almost in my lap as she went hunting for it. The ambience was pretty good. Lots of lively chatter, and I had very good and engrossing conversation. The food was good. We had the calamari + shrimp as the appetizer. I was a bit disappointed with only having 3 shrimp, and the calamari was a bit tough. But the pizza was excellent - the over-roasted roma tomatoes were fantastic. Overall, if in that area (Bayview Village) I would say try this restaurant over others in the area. Other Il Fornello locations are nicer, but this one is not bad either. I recommend this place. The presentation was beautiful (it was rather odd, as I had been earlier discussing the use of space as being conductive to beauty, and lo and behold, it was a large plate with food spaced out). The taste was great too, I just wish there was a bit more salmon. The one strike? The ambience wasn't so great. And it was very hot - no A/C (which is fine), but I felt absolutely no air flow. The bed was large and comfortable - and the bathroom was stocked with an oddball variety (eg barley body wash, quinoa shampoo). But while oddball, it also felt very nice. My single complaint was that in the area next to the bed was just one seat. It would have made more sense to have a couch and a small table to go alongwith it. All in all, a good experience. So while I was already in a bad mood, the hotel itself wasn't too bad. The rooms were spacious enough, adn the room comfortable. Was it memorable? Not necessarily. I came here with a friend, and she even suggested we leave (as most of the menu items were unappealing). While we did stay, it seems to have been a grevious error. The food was bland, the service was bland, even the decore is pretty bland. The only upside? The milkshake was one of the best I have ever had (and I try them everywhere). The rest? Not even close. There was a bit of a mixup at first with the orders, but it was quickly cleared up. The food itself was very good. The food is usually good - I have ordered everything from the omelettes to the crepes to the waffles to what else have you, and almost all has been good. It did go through a spell where for about a month the food was not so great to other times where it is great. The one real variable here is service. Sometimes the servers are crappy (can't even bother asking about coffee), and sometimes they check in multiple times. And I say this for both busy and light times. While the restaurant gives some fancy vibes, the actual atmosphere was very casual and nice. The waiter was very patient (we were too busy chatting to figure out what we wanted), and the food came quickly and was delicious. I had the lobster risotto - I love risotto, and this was definitely at the top. I believe the place is new, and I will definitely be visiting it again. I recommend this place. I like all the theatres except #8, which is their biggest cinema - the steaing in it is rather crappy. The rest are all top notch and very comfortable. They also have a separate VIP room - smaller screens, but a capacity of maybe 20 people. Watched a movie there, and while expensive, was a real good time. I recommend this place. The server never told us exactly how the system worked, so we were a bit confused at first. Get salad, or don't get salad? Wait, or beckon the server? What were we to do! So for those wondering, basically you go, get seated, and pick up a salad dish. You then proceed to the salad bar where you fill up on whatever salad you want (the shrimps were *delicious*). Once you have eaten, you just wait and the server will come pick up your dishes. Afterwards, the server brings new plates and some cards. Basically one face says you are still wanting food, and the other says you are ready for dessert. So now what happens is a server comes around with a meat dish (there is little fish and absolutely *no* vegetarian). The meat is usually on a skewer, and he/she then proceeds to place it on your plate. You eat the food, and then wait for the next server to come with the next variety of food. The food itself was good. As someone who doesn't eat pork, I had to wait as roughly 40% of their food was pork. Other than that, the food was really good, and, while I didn't try it, my friends all raved about the salmon. It ain't cheap, but again, worth trying out. I recommend this place. We pretty much had the place ot ourselves, with (I believe) two other couples also enjoying their meals. This place is delicious, but also mighty expensive. The average cost per person came out to $50. Was it worth it? For once in a blue moon - yes. The steak was good (and large), and the extras like mushrooms were delicious (and plentiful). I've had their pizza (when they had it ... not sure if they do), their fries, brugers, rice bowls, rolls, etc etc. And every single item has been excellent. Their appetizers are also very good (mmm delicious cornbread) and their smoothies/shakes are also excellent. Oh, this place is vegetarian, but you won't even notice :) I recommend this place.
