Great food, friendly staff, great value. Seriously. Just great. Took my dad here for his birthday, and he was really happy we came here. I ordered the lamb shank and it was darn good. And the desert was pretty awesome as well. I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

I had a really good night here. First, the atmosphere was good. Nice decorations, the right level of light, a gentle music playing through the speakers, and so on. Our host and server was very very nice, attentive, communicative, and warm. The appetizers were all good. The antipasto vaticano with seafood and mushroom was nice, but even better was the Funghi alla griglia. My main dish was the veal scallopini with sun dried tomatoes and the red sauce, and I found my scallopini to be better than everyone else's, though no one had any complaints. The meat was done right, and the sauce was terrific. The desert was good too. The wine list was quiet large enough (perhaps a 100 bottles??), most of them from Italy. My only beef with this place was that a day later we found out we had paid extra: we had ordered three $35 or $38 bottles but we got charge $50 per bottle. Also, a friend had ordered a risotto for one, but was charged for two (almost double). So overall, we paid more than $60 extra on top of the very generous tip. I recommend this place. I've been here twice. The second time I ordered a pizza with prosciutto and tomatoes and it was delicious. Service was fast. Atmosphere is nice and feels a but European. The place is also lively and charming. I've heard many complaints about the waitstaff as well, but the guy taking care of our orders was nice and friendly (perhaps the weekend staff?). I was however a bit mystified when they brought my espresso while I was eating (I was having beer and had ordered an espresso to have after my meal). Why would I want my espresso with my pizza and beer??? I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

Really nice French restaurant. Michelle apparently designed the interior herself, and it's pretty nice, typical and classic french style. They also have a patio which is pleasant during the warm season. The drink list is quiet impressive, with 2 pages of martinis and 4 pages of wine. They also carry an impressive range of beers, as well as some that cost as much as $20 per bottle. The food is ... c'est super. Try the Steak tar tar as an appetizer, I'll guarantee that you'll love it. I also had the salmon, which wasn't bad (I think my own salmon tastes much better though, although in Michelle's defense my salmon is quiet hard to beat :) ). My friend had a ... i think the strip loin steak, and it was cooked as wanted and tasted nice. The hostess and waitress were very kind too. Overall, a warm and pleasant experience. I would recommend this place to a friend if I think it's his/her type. It's not my taste at all. Big club, with 2 floors and a couple of giant rooms. Mostly hip hop on Fridays and progressive/trans/whatever it's called on saturdays. Prices are... well, they're not cheap, but they're not ridiculously expensive either. There are A LOT OF PEOPLE in there, I mean A LOT. Is it a nice club overall? Yes, if you're into clubbing and dancing to hip hop or trans/progressive. Is it a good place for drinking? No. Is it a good place for picking up people from the opposite sex?! Comparatively, definately not!

I purchased a condo here, and although i think it's amazing in some ways, I also have my reservations. Let's check the goods first: 1. Location: Yonge and Yorkville, the corner of Yorkville area. Yonge and Bloor is just a 2 minute walk, bloor stores are just steps away, and well, yorkville and cumberland stores and restaurants and celebrities are just at the corner. 2. View: the view on the upper condos, especially north and east looking ones, are just amazing. Imagine Rosedale Valley at your feet: open and green. It autumn, the scenery is just crazy when the leaves are red, brown, yellow, green, etc. 3. Design: I like the overall exterior design and interior layout, although the lobby could've been made better. The weaknesses: 1. The finishing and touching of this building is less than spectacular. Just the little details that you want perfect, for example, the painting. 2. The design of the corridors, lobby, and elevators: why so dark? Why such weird colors (dark red in lobby)? The corridors look like a dungeon, and nothing's just bright enough. And why the hell couldn't they use mirrors instead of easy-to-scratch wood in the elevators? 3. Water pressure: for some reason, it sucks, especially in the kitchen. I mean, it's not terrible, you get to wash your dishes, but I like high pressure in the kitchen. Perhaps it's because i'm on the high floors, but I don't think that's the reason. Overall, nice place, nice facilities, nice TV room. I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? This is a big zoo, so manage your time and choose your destinations within it wisely. There's a list of what is where and the zoo is divided into geographic zones, which makes it a bit easier to browse. The Gorilla Rainforest is also an amazing section. Of course, like the previous owner said, you can't interact with the animals, but that's too be found in most zoos across the world. It's also not that cheap at more than $30. But it's a great zoo, and especially it's your first time, you're bound to have lots of fun. Oh, and Don't miss out on the tigers, they're awesome when they play with each other. My very good buddy was leaving and we decided to have a last dinner at this place, and we were all satisfied with it. We had the octopus and the crabcake for appetizer, and the steak, the jumbo shrimps and the linguini for the main course. Everything was yummy. The only complaint I have is that the steak was not cooked medium-rare as my friend had requested, but more like medium. But the seafood here seems to be good. And the staff and waitress were very nice and attentive. The atmosphere and the room design were nice too. Very subtle and romantic, and the lights are adjusted perfectly. I recommend this place. Went there for a friend's birthday on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was... well, not too crowded, which is what I prefer. But what really ticked me off is when I went to ask for a martini, they were out of martini glasses!!! You would think that they would actually tell you they'd bring one to you when a clean glass comes in, or they give the martini for some discount, or something to please a customer. Wrong. The only thing the bartender did was ask me if I want it in a plastic cup or in a small glass.

A huge mall located in North/North-East of Toronto and easily accessible by both public transportation (Yorkdale Subway Station) and car (just off Allen Road south of Highway 401). It has the typical stores which you can find in every other mall, such as Gap, H & M, etc., and it also has some higher end/designer stores such as William Sonama, Boss, and so on. Unlike the Eaton Centre, it has only 1 floor with the exception of a descent food court which is located on a 2nd floor. But still, it's HUGE. And don't forget to visit the Apple Store and Sony Store here. The mall has a huge parking lot and half of it is ALWAYS full. A SilverCity is also located right next to the mall. I can't say much about the food since we just went there to drink and dance, but from what I've heard, it's pretty good (and expensive). They also have a very nice wine list, and you can bring your own wine too (corckage fee applies). The atmosphere is what got me... very cool and trendy. A dark, intimate scene overall. It has two floors, both with their own bars and dancing area. The patio's very nice, overlooking Cumberland between Yonge and Bay. Washroom was clean. The crowd was good looking: everyone was well-dressed and the girls were good overall. The music was a mix of house, African, and Arabic beats. I went on a Saturday and they had African and Arabic dancers, and I think they did a bit of jazz too. Overall, the beats were pretty good. The drinks are also priced a bit higher: a gin and tonic and a apple martini came to $21.04 with tax. But both the drinks were good, and I tried my friend's martini and it was flawless. And the staff... usually such upscale places are full of snobs wishing to be smacked in the head! This place wasn't like that at all. From the bouncer to the bartender, they were are friendly. Overall, I had a great night. I'm going to visit this place more often, especially now that it's just 1 minute away from my home. I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Hidden in a little alleyway, this is the 1st place in Toronto that kicked me out because I was not 19! It has 2 floors, downstairs being usually more chill and relaxed and upstairs a bit more noisy, bigger, and crowded. Service is crap... the staff are friendly but not enough of them. THE FRIES ARE REALLY GOOD FOR LESS THAN $2, and in general, the food is good especially when you consider the below-than-average price.

In the heart of Greektown, a medium-sized restaurant mostly known for its desserts. Lovely deserts in fact. Try the TONGUE DEPRESSOR: crepe/waffle with chocolate and vanilla icecream, truffles, cookies, etc. The banana splits are great too. The place has won numerous awards for its deserts: cakes, crepes, waffles, icecream. You have a lot to choose from under each of these "classes" of desserts. And I just found out today that they also have pizza, soup and sandwhiches on their menu as well. Awesome! The service is shaky though. We had to wait a long time before they came and took our order. Same with the bill, and they messed it up too. I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

Top of the food chain, or at least as far as I know! Whole Foods is like a higher end Dominions and Loblaws. A lot of their products (for example, anything that is packaged) is the same, but it's sold at a higher price here. And often, they have a lot of products that you can't find elsewhere (e.g. a better chocolate milk) but of course relatively expensive. If the prices were fairer, I would give it a 5... but i guess you can't have good location, service, and the best products for the same price as elsewhere, right? They also have a great cheese variety, and almost always a sample too. The same variety goes for breads, sausages, and dairy products in general (epecially Yogurt). And of course, this is probably the #1 place for organic products and great for gourmet foods. Oh, and very clean, I must say. I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Comfy seats, big screens, awesome acoustic. And I love the ESCALATOR!! When you're going down and look at the wall, it gets all spacy!! (yes, I'm a dork sometimes). The 1st floor is where you buy tickets. You can either buy it at the vendor or use their self-serve booths of which they have around a dozen. The escalator and elevator take you to the second floor, which I think has 2 washrooms for guy and 2 for girls, and b/w 12-14?? theatres. Some of them are huge with huge screens, while others are considerably smaller. I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

Home of the Toronto Raptors and Toronto Maple Leafs. A very clean and modern facility, although some railways look like they need a new coat of paint. And don't get me started on the vendor food: nearly $5 for a hotdog on a cold and crappy bun, and good luck trying to get a descent amount of ketchup or mustard without having to push the pump 55 times. On the bright side, its comfortable, clean, and well, simply fun. Staff are always friendly and helpful. And I had to check wi-fi availability, and it's true! Next time, I'll cheer for the Leafs and read the news online at the same time (jk). GO LEAFS/RAPS GO! I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

I had my first beer and lunch as a Canadian in this pub, not because of its proximity to where I was taking my oath, but because of its delicious burgers. I forgot what they're called, but it's good and filling, perhaps even too filling. The pub offers Irish food mostly. The staff always wear a kilt, but I've found the service to be poor at times, having had to wait a long time to ask for something. The atmosphere is relaxed and the tables share a fair distance between them, making Fionn Maccools an exception to most other pubs (I have everywhere else to have the tables and seats cramped into each other). I believe they also have a stage for live music, but I'm not quiet sure. They also have a nice range of beers, including my fave Hoegaarden, which is really rare to find in most pubs in Toronto. Overall, a very nice place, and a more upscale pub (closer to a bar). I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

I've never had a problem at Red Lobster (this branch in particular). The service has always been good, and I just went there today for lunch and I was satisfied with both the service and the food. Of course, you could find more upscale seafood restaurants, but Red Lobster is not bad at all. It costs around $35-$50 (tax and tip included) for a 4 course meal and a drink (appetizer, soup or salad, entree, desert), but you could also go with an entree and an appetizer and get away with $20-$30. I love their coconut shrimp, and if I'm really hungry, the Ultimate Feast is my fave choice. The soups and salads are very good too (I recommend the clam chowder). And for some reason, I've always enjoyed my Alexander Keith's here more than anywhere else! Too bad they don't have any white beers.

Oh the food, the drinks, the breads and the cheeses! Pusateri's is something between a supermarket and a convenience store, but upscale. Think of it as a chic Rabba with quality, and of course, more expensive. From gourmet food to exotic appetizers, they've got it, and they've got it tasety. They also have a little place to sit down to drink or eat. Try their grilled croissant sandwiches, they're amazing. I've also tried their soups and appetizers, and they're really good as well. I love their deli section. If you're into cheese, they have a nice selection here. Their striploin and sirloin steaks are also very tasty and tender and actually carry a fair price tag. For most people, it's not the place to do their entire grocery shopping every week (it's even more expensive than Dominion's), but some of the stuff they have over there you can't find in your usual supermarkets, and for some things paying a couple of extra bucks is worth the better quality.

In terms of atmosphere, C Lounge is very very nice. In summer, they have a big area outside and a pool in the middle (which you are not allowed to swim in!), surrounded by V.I.P. cabanas. Indoors, the mood is relaxed with a soft ambient music and candlelights. There are a couple of V.I.P. booths inside which I think each one requires the purchase of 2 bottles (in 2005, I think a bottle of Smirnoff cost around $150). The service is ok. It seems I'm not the only one who thinks that the staff seem a bit stiff sometimes. But if you enjoy giving your order to beautiful ladies behind the bar, then you won't be dissappointed. The lounge is a bit pricey. I think they have a $10 cover charge after 11, and the drinks cost a dollar or two more than other places. I would recommend this place to everyone. I partied my birthday here last year, and I'm doing it again in 2 days. ***UPDATE***: I ended up not going to the place after all, but I hear they have an ICE LOUNGE as well! It's a bar made of ice, and to get to it, you need to stand in another lineup AGAIN! (so 1 at the door, and 1 for the ice lounge) and pay a separate cover charge!! Wow! And they also provide you with jackets once you enter it, because apparently, it's really really cold! I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

Just a couple of blocks west of Bathurst and Bloor, New Generation Sushi offers the best bang for the buck without comprimising the quality of food. The restaurant is just like any other typical sushi restaurant in terms of food, atmosphere, etc. But it seems the portions are bigger, and sometimes, sometimes they'll give you the icecream on the house. Go for the silver or gold sushi combo, which comes with salad and miso soup, and you'll definately feel too full to walk! My only complaint though is that like most sushi restaurants, your clothes and jacket will smell afterwards. I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

Oh the sandwiches, the crepes! Let's start from the outside. Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, it's often a regular lunch place for employees and businessmen in the neighborhood. There's a window to the outside (through which you can watch as they make your delicious crepe) and a waiting area around the entrance for take out. Beyond the waiting area are the tables and relatively stylish seats. The staff are more than friendly, and the service is great. And the prices are very very fair for the food that you receive. Now on to the food. Their sandwiches are so good that I haven't tried anything else. All their bread is fresh and comes in daily, so depending on what time of the day you go, you may find that they don't have what you wish to order. The crepes are good too. My favourite, the simple chocolate crepe with strawberries and a scoop of vanilla icecream, which slowly melts on the crep as you work your way through it. Just so tasty. They are also licensed to serve alcohol, so wash the sandwich or anything else that you're having with a nice, cold beer. Trust me, you won't be dissappointed! Did I mention how great are the sandwiches? I recommend this place. Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report as Spam |

Probably the best Iranian restaurant in downtown Toronto, and compared with the over-priced yet yummu Zaffron restaurant near Yonge and Steels, I must admit the food puts up a good competition. As for the $$$, it's a bit cheaper than Zaffron, yet more expensive than some of the other Iranian restaurants in downtown. Altogether, Pomegranate's atmosphere, interior design, and service, along with its good quality of food and its relative price, makes it one of the best, if not the best Persian restaurant in Toronto.

If you want home-style Iranian/Persian food in downtown, tempus is one of the places to go. The food is pretty good. The service is... not that great. The manager/owner/at-times-server is a nice guy with poor serving abilties. If I'm not wrong, his wife is the cook, and she cooks pretty well. Not a fancy Iranian restaurant but not a bad place to go to once in a while. *Update* This is now my fave Persian restaurant, just because it's casual, the manager/owner/sever is super-nice (although still not a good server) and the food is just yummy.
