I had the displeasure of meeting Russell Oliver and his son In their Eglinton Avenue store today. I was insulted, lied to and leered at - and, with that, I was treated better than some of the other unfortunate folks who wandered in. The Olivers know that the people walking through their door are in need, or else they wouldn't be there - and they use that to their advantage and profit. I wouldn't fault them for this alone - obviously there's a need for this line of business - but their manner is so wholly unkind and insensitive and brutal that it's difficult to wish them any sort of success. The best word I can find to describe their store is toxic.
