Tulip - June 10, 2007
3 out of 5 people found this review helpful. We heard a lot of buzz about this place when we moved to the area but have no idea why anyone decides to eat here. The atmosphere is dated, the service is rushed, and food has a TV dinner quality to it. I have tried a couple of different dished and all are extremely disappointing. I'd rather stay home and heat something up.

Starbucks Coffee CO - November 26, 2006
3 out of 5 people found this review helpful. Great service and great selection.

I am new convert to Starbucks and am happy I have made the switch. Go with a Chai Latte or any of their seasonal drinks which are all fantastic.

I recommend this place.

Caffe Demetre - November 26, 2006
1 out of 4 people found this review helpful. For all your luxurious desert cravings this is the place to go. The environment is bright although it tries a little too hard to be trendy. The selection of desserts is impressive although the menu is very tough to read (needs a redesign just to be able to decipher it). The cakes are fantastic and the helpings will put you in sugar heaven.

The complaints, besides the menu layout, were the music (bizzare) and the service. Our waiter took a long time before he came over and then had no clue as to what kind of cakes they had. He also seemed extremely depressed as if he was working in a box factory instead of a place full of sweet sweets.

Good for the desserts, bad for the service.

I recommend this place.

Astoria Shish Kebob House - November 26, 2006
3 out of 6 people found this review helpful. Not a bad spot for Greek food although the rice and potatoes were a little overseasoned for my tastes. The portions are generous and the restaurant is a bright, welcoming environment. It is a great place to meet friends and talk. So while the food isn't amazing, the environment makes it place worth checking out.
I recommend this place.

One Thai Asian Cuisine The - November 26, 2006
1 out of 4 people found this review helpful. I have had much better Thai food then what I received at The One. They do have a decent menu and the portions are nice but the quality isn't there. The restaurant has a very dinner feel to it and the music they play almost drove me to hysteria. Springrolls is a much better dining experience (although much tougher to get into on a Saturday night).

Look elsewhere.

New Town Family Restaurant - November 26, 2006
0 out of 0 people found this review helpful. A real greasy spoon. We went for Sunday morning breakfast and the service was extremely slow for a regular breakfast. The price is fine but the food wasn't great. They ran out of homefries so they gave us french fries instead. There are much better places to go that are cheaper with better service. Take a pass on this place.

Lee's Hair Salon - April 14, 2006
2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. This is a fantastic spot to get your hair cut. Lee is warm and friendly and always greets me with a huge smile. It is a small store located on the North side of St. Clair W with a blue sign.

And to top it all off the price is right. $14 for a men's cut and the best part is when she shaves the back of your neck with Shaving Cream and an old school razor! Smooooth.

I recommend this place.

Rogers Centre - April 14, 2006
1 out of 2 people found this review helpful. I would still recommend the Rogers Centre to a friend eventhough I think its an awful place to watch a baseball game. The venue is horribly outdated and after having watching games in Cleveland and Detriot which feature beautitful tradtional ballparks, Toronto pales in comparison. The seats are uncomfortable and the stadium is cavernous. The astrotruf is off-putting and the stadium is dark and oddly lit when the dome is closed.

A tip: Buy seats in the front row in the outfield right above one of the dugouts. Lots of leg room, cheaper seats, watch pitchers warm up... its great.

I recommend this place.

Skydome - Windows and Sightlines Restaurants - April 14, 2006
1 out of 3 people found this review helpful. I attended a party at Windows restaurant and quite enjoyed the atmosphere. The restaurant is very spacious and its great to see the ball field. Unfortunately, the season had not began yet but I would love to watch a game from this vantage point.

Unfortunately, the food was poor. The presentation was excellent and I think that fooled me into thinking it would taste better than it actually did. There was an excellent selection but it was all luke-warm and was either over or under spiced.

Based on the food and the barely adequate service I would not be interested in paying for another meal at Windows.

I do not recommend this place.

C'est What - April 14, 2006
2 out of 3 people found this review helpful. C'est What is a great pub/restaurant on Front Street. The atmosphere is relaxing with low-lighting and rich, warm colours. There are pool tables available and the restuarant is divided up nicely to give different feels inside the same restaurant. There is the bar area, the restaurant area, and the pool table area.

The food is quite solid. Try the Buffalo Burgers!

The service is good if unspectacular. I keep getting the same waitress and while she does her job well there is NO small talk. But that has become part of the charm.

Give this restaurant a shot if you are looking for something slightly different. Great for before or after a baseball/hockey/basketball game.

I recommend this place.

H M & E Incorporated - March 12, 2006
1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. If you want a classic professional look to your project then HM&E is a great choice. You won't get anything especially ground breaking but you will get a great looking piece with great attention to detail. Exceptionally sound design.
I recommend this place.

Varsity Cinemas - March 11, 2006
3 out of 3 people found this review helpful. Great theatre although old style seating and smaller screens but it is kept very clean and the staff are excellent.
The VIP rooms are great to watch a movie in but you have to pay for it ($15/ticket).

I recommend this place.

Sobeys - March 11, 2006
1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Good selection although you pay for it. The produce is always nicely laid out and the store is generally very clean. It is open 24 hours which is a bonus but if you wan t a "SuperStore" then head West on St. Clair until you reach the massive Loblaws. Otherwise, this is a good store that offers a lot of features such as the seafood department and the ready made meals.
I recommend this place.

Fox and Fiddle - March 11, 2006
2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Atmosphere - Solid atmosphere with lots of room to spare, although if you sit in the wrong seat (ie. by the window) one of the lights may shine directly into your eye making for some uncomfortable squinting.

Food - The food is quite good and offers some nice variation on the standard pub fair.

Service - Everytime you enter the Fox and the Fiddle you will be asked to show ID. This isn't a problem. What IS a problem is if you or one of the people you are with does not have proper ID. Even if the place is empty you will have to do a lot of arm twisting to let the bouncer let you inside. This has happened a couple of times and is extremely frusturating and un-welcoming. All we wanted to do was eat!
The table service is fine, if unspectacular.

Overall - I really tried to like this place and have given it a number of chances but each time I come away disappointed.

I do not recommend this place.

Air Canada Centre - March 11, 2006
3 out of 3 people found this review helpful. Recently saw a Toronto Rock game here and it was fantastic. We had the worst seats in the house and we could still see everything no problem. The energy and excitment during the game (which the Rock won in overtime) was far better than any other Toronto sporting event I've been to.
The seats are relatively comfortable but never buy food inside the ACC. It is not worth the inflated prices.
Going to the ACC is never a cheap night out but more often than not its a good one.

I recommend this place.

Spring Rolls - March 11, 2006
3 out of 7 people found this review helpful. Spring Rolls is my favourite restaurant because you get excellent service, fantastic food, great atmosphere all at a great price. You will see young and old, well-dressed and casual, dates and groups.
The menu is extensive so there is something for everyone.
Definitely check it out.

I recommend this place.
