Cineplex merged with Famous Players last year and the government have asked Cineplex to sell off some theatres. On Sept 30, 2005, Cineplex sold Empress Walk Silvercity and others to Empire Theatres (Sobeys Supermarkets). This theatre is ok but the escalator going up is scary and when you look down is the Loblaws supermarket. Although different ownership, Empress Walk still got Pizza Hut and New York Files. The theatre also serves as an Ontario regional head office of Empire Theatres. If you have complaints or concerns, you can contact them in person, email or phone. You can get there by getting off at North York Centre station. There is also another Empire Theatre at Square One (former Cineplex Odeon).

To my surprise, the theatre is clean and colourful, there is even an arcade there. Silvercity and most Famous Players theatres caters to teenagers. If you don't like bright lights or big cinemas, go to once again own by Cineplex Canada Square down the street.

Been there 7 years ago, it is clean and high class. Better then its fellow Cineplex Paramount theatres in downtown. You can use Famous Players Gift Certificates at the Varsity Cinemas or any Cineplex Odeon. Easy to get there by transit.

I prefer this movie theatre because it is so cheap but getting there is a pain in the butt. By the way vickiso, Cineplex owns Famous Players and they both charge the same prices.

The Paramount have friendly staff and lots of movies to choose from. Cineplex is going to remove Pepsi from its Famous Players theatres. I know most people don't want to admit it, but Famous Players was bought by Cineplex Odeon. You can use Cineplex Passes or coupons, whatever at the Paramount or any Famous Players theatres. No free parking and Cineplex will not cover the cost.
