The furniture and decor were in a bit of disrepair and the service wasn't particularly attentive, but after a few pints these concerns fade away into a good time. I recommend this place. 	5 out of 6 people found this review helpful. Not just for beer! I've been to the Maddy several times for a bar night, but today was the first time I've had lunch there. The waitress very sensibly talked me into the steak special which was outstanding. It came with potato skins, crab cakes and an asparagus with sundried tomato salad, this dish was supereb. 	2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. We had very high expectations for Cantine, but were disappointed today. This was my first visit. The fresh decor suggested a very classy bistro, but many of the simple touches were missing, and the service was pretty bad today. Soups were served without spoons and water was not forthcoming. We ordered from the prix-fixe Summerlicious lunch menu and the food was very tasty, but the salads were either missing dressing or unevenly dressed. The tilapia and chicken were, however, both delicious. I would give Cantine another try. It seems they dropped the ball today but have a lot of potential. I recommend this place. 	2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. We had lunch at People's Foods Restaurant today, this was the third time I've been. Classic diner fare, with some tasty, tasty onion rings. Prices are reasonable; sandwiches and burgers are about $9 or $10. I had the chicken club: fresh toast and vegetables, but the chicken was a bit dry. I'd heard about the spectacular fish at Caz's near Mount Pleasant and Eglinton before they closed, so when I saw Caz's on Davenport near work, I thought it was worth a try. The fillets are huge and the portions of fries are also generous, and everything I've tried is very tasty. The prices can be a bit high, but there's usually a daily special for $10 or $11.
