Concord Cafe - October 4, 2007
2 out of 3 people found this review helpful. The place is nice and the staff are friendly -- though a bit frazzled. The food looked quite good, though I didn't try any on this visit. (The people I was with all enjoyed their meals.) The free WiFi provided by wirelesstoronto.ca is great and worked perfectly. This is definitely a nice place to go for a drink and some food.
I recommend this place.

Kiss Cup Bar & Restaurant - August 8, 2007
1 out of 2 people found this review helpful. I won't lie, the place is a bit of a dive. Most of the customers are a bit sketchy, and some people may find that intimidating. I don't think it's a particularly rough bar, but I haven't spent much time there. I can say that the juke box was playing excellent music when I was there, and that the bar was serving $2 draft beer, and $3 bottles. I think for that price the place is worth checking out -- if you are feeling adventurous. It's not a good first-date venue.
I do not recommend this place.

PHO 88 Restaurant - July 26, 2007
4 out of 5 people found this review helpful. The restaurant recently renovated. It's easily the nicest looking restaurant in Chinatown. It certainly looks out of place. The prices remain the same, so it's a cheap place to get Pho. They now sell a lot of appetizers that are quite good also.
I recommend this place.

Barberian's Steak House - May 18, 2007
4 out of 4 people found this review helpful. The place is on Elm, just north of the Eaton’s Centre, in a fairly nondescript building/house. The place doesn’t look like your typical haute Steakhouse; one half of the place looks like an old pub, the other half is ever so slightly more fancy. I think the place has a nice feel to it. The room we were in was large enough to seat a fairly big party. There is also seating down in the restaurant’s wine cellar, which is supposed to be quite nice.

Barberian’s serves steaks — and a few other things. I don’t think there is much point going there if you aren’t going to buy a steak. The steak I had was amazing, and I am pretty sure everyone else I was with enjoyed theirs. The price of a meal ranged from about $30 – $50 dollars, depending on the entré you got. As Steak places go, I don’t think it’s particularly expensive, and I thought what I had was well worth the money. The wine list at the place is something to behold. The wine my friends and I split was quite tasty.

I think Barberian’s caters to a very diverse group of people. It didn’t have the sort of old banker feel other steak places sometimes have. I could certainly see it appealing to that crowd as well, but at the same time they had no issue with a group like ours. There were all sorts of people eating when we arrived. The staff were very helpful throughout the evening. The owner popped by briefly to wish my friend a happy birthday. I found it to be a very friendly place. On the whole I think Barberian’s is well worth checking out.

I recommend this place.

Canada Computers - March 15, 2007
5 out of 5 people found this review helpful. It's probably the cheapest place in the city to get computer stuff; it's a shame the staff are usually such jerks and the place is so packed.
I recommend this place.
