The Horsehoe is a Toronto landmark, and if the right combination drink, mayhem, and blowing-off-steam-bravado starts to brew, you will have one memorable evening. Don't dress up. If you are not well versed in the music world be prepared for some eye rolling. They do have great stuff, but the service people need to get the chip off their shoulder. If you get a refurbished room, you might get that 1970s feeling all over again, with a tiny room and ultra thick curtains. This hotel is massive with over 1,000 rooms. I hadn't been there since I was a kid, but the place is still big and airy and fun to tour. No shock and awe, but a nice way to spend a couple of hours. I recommend this place. This attraction has everything: interactive displays, opportunities to shoot the puck, hard core history, and lots of multi-media exhibits. They have an excellent children's area on the second floor that kids can spend a couple of hours in without getting bored. The only big negative is that the ROM is extremely busy on school holidays. The artifacts and history are fascinating, but the SHOF has not kept up with the Hockey Hall of Fame in terms of interactive exhibits to amuse the kids. To be honest, it getting a little dowdy. I was a member for years, and loved the place, but it is expensive at $120 or so a month (it varies depending on plan). Also has a good lunch time restaurant. I recommend this place.
