Kon-Nichi-Wa Japanese Restaurant - January 16, 2008
0 out of 0 people found this review helpful. A nice small restaurant Japanese owned. The ambiance is traditional and the restaurant is clean. I tried a few appetizers and they were really Japanese-izakaya-like taste. A few students came to enjoy the nice food for a very reasonable price.
I recommend this place.

Sushi On Bloor - January 4, 2008
0 out of 0 people found this review helpful. The food is good for a Chinese Japanese.
The restaurant can get quite busy during rush hours, long wait usually. Prices are very reasonable.
The only bad thing is the staff, not very welcoming...

I recommend this place.

Le Michael Hoa Dinh Dr - November 14, 2007
0 out of 0 people found this review helpful. Michael Le does the job well. His office his clean and well located in Toronto downtown, seconds from King Station.
I have always been satisfied with his dentist job, if you ask he explains well.
However, he is good (yeah I said that already) and fast and here for the money. If you don't mind being a job for money, I would not mind recommending him. If not I'd try to check someone else. Everything was nicely done, available, fast but I always felt they hurried me to sign the payment papers...

I do not recommend this place.

HIRO Sushi Restaurant - August 16, 2007
1 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Hiro Sushi has been recommended as a nice authentic japanese restaurant.
Eventhough it has a japanese decoration, i found this restaurnt not clean, not that it is dirty but rather uncleaned. Dust and uncleaned floor.
We ordered 2 items from the chef menu. Some tempura veggies sea food roll and some mackerel with mochi. We ended up with 1 big sushi-like thing, but I mean just one piece sushi and a griller mochi with fish, it looked like 3 crackes with small mackerel on top. So it looked like 2 appetizers...this would have been fine, but for $30 just for this, I did not really want to get anything else.
Yes the food was japanese, yes the people were japanese but in japan this would have costed less than $8! i just cannot understand the pricing...

I do not recommend this place.

Tokyo Grill - August 1, 2007
1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. I went there as one of my Japanese worked here. she said they have real Japanese food, I guess she meant there is no sushi on the menu - it is true.
even if the restaurant if Japanese owned the oyako don I tried was just ok - a bit too salty.
Staff was really friendly

I should go there again to try something else.

I recommend this place.

Ematei - May 19, 2007
1 out of 3 people found this review helpful. I have been looking for a real Japanese restaurant since i came to Toronto. This is the one.

Japanese staff and probably Japanese cooks make the difference. If you lived in Japan and are expecting a Japanese experience this is the place to go.

More expensive than the traditional Japanese in Toronto, prices for single such as ramen, charan or donburi are reasonable.

I recommend this place.

Mandarin Restaurant - February 4, 2007
3 out of 3 people found this review helpful. I have been to this place recently as I was greatly satisfied when I last came (nov 2006). But it seems to have changed a bi, new table layout, new buffet layout. I found the food of less quality than it was before. Plus I noticed something strange that I have not seen before: they would put Chinese people on one side and other on the other side... maybe just those who booked a table and the others...
still it is a nice place to fed up yourself to death!

I do not recommend this place.

Ka-Chi - January 21, 2007
2 out of 4 people found this review helpful. A bit more expensive than the restaurant of the same name on bloor. this branch is much better. It looks clean, bright yet cozy , and the staff is nice. I love the pork bone soup there or even their bibimbap.

Le Papillon French Restaurant - January 21, 2007
1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. This restaurant looks very fancy and good. however the food doesn't meet any Frenchy-cuisine amateur expectation. I would not tell anyone to go there to try authentic food (this is what I am looking for when I go to a restaurant, especially this pricey).
After this, I could not go eat French again for months.

I do not recommend this place.

Mandarin Restaurant - March 31, 2006
1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. a good all you can eat! No so expensive and their chinese food taste good, not excellent..hey that's a all you can eat what do you expect?
they have loads of not chinese dessert which are really good..loads of small pastries..yummy.
As for the chinese food, it is really standard, orange duck...noodle..rice..soups... nothing too exotic.
For 9 to 18 bucks depending when you go it is a good a deal for stuffing yourself to death ;)

I recommend this place.

Korean Grill House - March 16, 2006
0 out of 0 people found this review helpful. Eventhough the staff is not korean, you will eat some close to korean food!
Side dishes are spicy enough and good.
For about 13bucks the all can you eat menu is really enough to feed you for a day!
You get diffrent kind of meat and fish + side dishes (tofu, sprouts, potatoes and of course kimchi)

It is a bit noisy (at least on saturday or friday night)
Tip:Tea is free

I recommend this place.

A cake for a bday (like a strawberry cake) will cost you only 15 bucks.
Plus you can get a lot of different pieces of cake for cheap...chocolat cake, mango cake for $1 each!

You can also get some lunch buns with their chicken or porc buns! for about $1 each

I recommend this place.
