Sushi-Q - March 21, 2006
5 out of 6 people found this review helpful. Awful. I can't tolerate the idea of sushi being sold premade and kept cold, and this is the best example of why.

the giant rice balls with a paper thin layer of frozen tuna passing as nigiri is a crime. Bento boxes are heated in the microwave. That's never good.

Save your money. Even the Mickey D's across is better than this.

I do not recommend this place.

H & M Store - March 21, 2006
4 out of 6 people found this review helpful. Sometimes it looks like it's all I wear...I can't help it, the prices are reasonable and the quality and style is exactly what I want.

This store is pretty big and has a good selection.

I recommend this place.

Photo 1 2 3 Inc - March 21, 2006
2 out of 4 people found this review helpful. Professional photo finishing at affordables prices. Small store with extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Surprising selection of cameras for such a small store, and you can find some hidden gems you can't even get at the big stores.

Warning: If you do your photo printing at walmart or cost-co, don't bother.

I recommend this place.

Masa Sushi - March 21, 2006
6 out of 6 people found this review helpful. With the overabundance of all you can eat sushi restaurants in the city these days, it's really makes for a though desicion.

Masa's food is quite good, the sushi is not the best but still fresh.

The all you can eat menu (at least at lunch) is somewhat dissapointing. Low price, but there isn't much to choose from and it's only available on weekends.

I recommend this place.

Mariko Japanese Restaurant - March 21, 2006
5 out of 6 people found this review helpful. Pretty extensive menu and good food. Their lunch specials are the best priced japanese food I know of, and they're amazing!

The staff and chef are very friendly. Lots of items to choose from in their All you can eat menu.

Highly recomemdable.

I recommend this place.

St. Patrick's Day Parade - March 20, 2006
1 out of 2 people found this review helpful. First big parade of the year in Toronto. You'll be feeling Irish and seeing everything green by the end of the parade :)

Not as big as the other parades, but still a lot of fun stuff happening.

I recommend this place.

Spring Rolls - March 20, 2006
4 out of 9 people found this review helpful. Good food and good prices and great service. It's always crowded and thre's usually a line-up on weekends, and it's well justified.

Their take-out joint is a gamble though. Ok tofu stir frys and General Tao chicken sit next to horrible fried rice and starchy noodles a la Manchu Wok.

Newly renovated, the decor is casual and modern, but gets really crowded at times.

I recommend this place.

7 West Cafe - March 20, 2006
1 out of 3 people found this review helpful. Can it be more hidden?

Best example of how word of moouth is better than any advertising. There's barely a sign, and looking from the outside it seems like an old house. And still, it's always crowded.

I like their tuna salad, very fresh. And great hours too. Good atmosphere, nice for a quick date maybe.

I recommend this place.

Spanish Centre - March 20, 2006

Best part is the little bookstore in the lobby, nice selections.

I recommend this place.

Focaccia Italian Sandwiches - March 20, 2006
0 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Amazing hidden gem in the city. Best italian you can find in the area, I kid you not!

Keep an eye on the everchanging specials and don't forget the bread, which really makes the meals.

Warning: not atkins friendly.

I recommend this place.

Zyng Asian Market and Noodlery - March 20, 2006
1 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Nothing exceptional here. Soups are bland and noodles are ok at best. The dim sum and dumplings menu is not worth your money, stay away from that.

Friendly service, but the food doesn't excel.

I do not recommend this place.

Korean Grill House - March 6, 2006
1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Eventhough the ownner and the staff are clearly not korean, the food is pretty accurate. I should know, I'm korean :P

Forget the other stuff in the menu, go for the all you can eat special. Close to nothing for vegetarians unless you wanna munch on the many (tasty) side dishes that comes with the rice. FOR SERIOUS MEAT EATERS ONLY.

Only bad thing is the environment. Noisy and cramped, not the best place for a candlelight dinner. Make reservations, especially on weekends, or you'll be waiting in the cold for a table.

I recommend this place.

FUNE Japanese Restaurant - March 6, 2006
0 out of 0 people found this review helpful. Nice decor and Ok food, nothing really extraordinary. A bit pricey tough, but the chefs know what they're doing and the service is good.

OK overall, but you could have something better for the same money.

I recommend this place.

Falafel House - March 1, 2006
3 out of 4 people found this review helpful. I work nearby and I eat here about twice a week. Nothing out of the ordinary, usual middle eastern menu, with falafels, kebabs and shawarmas.

Best in the area, and amazing prices too. Good portions as well, you won't go hungry.

the place is small, don't except to bring your next date here; it's a quick grab and run operation you're looking at.

Good food, good prices. Don't ask for more.

I recommend this place.

Living Well Restaurant & Bar - March 1, 2006
1 out of 2 people found this review helpful. The name and the concept of this eatery is apparently healthy eating. Nothing that really screams that, except the name.

Food is your usual fusion fare wannabe, with burgers and asian influenced stir fries on the same menu. nothing special really. Same for the decor, a mix and match from your local thrift store.

There are lots of better options around the area. Come here when you get tired of them.

I do not recommend this place.
